You must be accountable, responsible, and devoted to your children's overall development when you accept the call to parenting. Nature has given you one task: raising your children. As a parent, you are in charge of their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

In order to get the best out of your children, it's crucial to teach them the behaviors that will help them become the kind of persons you want them to be.

In this article, I want to briefly discuss six things you should teach your daughter before she's ten years old.

1. Be careful when interacting with men. I believe that this is the first lesson that any parent should teach their female child when she is still a small child. She can save herself a lot of difficulty if she teaches her children the importance of keeping their composure around men and being aware of what they do with her. As a parent, explain your female child how their body functions, including their sexual organs, and be cautious while interacting with men.

2. Additionally, it is critical that you instill a sense of responsibility in your daughter by teaching her how to look after herself and the things she owns. Educate her on the importance of keeping her underwear, clothes, and overall appearance neat and orderly.

3. African culture places a high value on the virtue of respect. Teach your daughter from an early age the importance of treating others with respect, and she will be admired and adored by everyone around her. Showing her how to treat her elders is part of this process.

4. One of the most important things you can teach your child is how to express gratitude. Help her see the value of being grateful for the presents she receives and the nice things people do for her.

5. It is important for parents to teach their children how to say "no" to immoral practices, even if they appear to be dangerous, because children are naturally afraid of things that appear to be harmful. Your children will be better prepared for a responsible adulthood if you teach them about the importance of debunking immoral practices.

6. Finally, instill in your daughter a sense of the value of language and how it can either be harmful or beneficial depending on how it is used. Teach your children to speak only positively and to avoid using profanity as much as possible. As a parent, doing this will help your child succeed in all of her endeavors, and it will also make you a more responsible one.
